When I met with Darlene, she had a wonderful vision in mind and needed a little help to pull it all together. We were excited about working with Darlene & Terry and to bring their vision of a rustic country wedding to frui-tion.

Darlene and Terry had selected the wonderfully charming Ruthven Park in Cayuga to exchange vows and celebrate with family and friends. Ruthven is a historic mansion nestled in the forest, a very intimate setting along the Grand River. The carriage house was the perfect setting for Darlene and Terry’s vintage wedding.

It was important to them both that lots of personal and meaningful details were part of their wedding day. Everything from the yards of fabulous bunting that hung from the carriage house rafters, to the chopped logs adorning the ceremony aisle to the ever so yummy homemade cookies that adorned each guest’s dinner plate, even the long white lounge settee had a humorous story behind it. They were meaningful details that Darlene and Terry took time to make just right.

Finishing off all of their details were our flowers. Darlene loved the look and feel of another wedding we did last fall at the Ancaster Mill and asked us to give the same touches to her flowers. So working with her color pallet of soft and romantic peaches, pinks, creams with a splash of orange, we created pieces that included garden roses, astilby, ranunculus, berries, dahlia, dusty miller and stock flower. They were a perfect match and completed the look and vision Darlene had dreamed of.

To help Darlene and Terry pull off their fabulous wedding, the team met them at Ruthven just prior to and on day of the wedding to put all of the details into place. Incorporating all of Darlene’s personal touches and our beautiful flowers, the carriage house and tent were warm and inviting. The perfect place to celebrate the love of a wonderful couple.

Darlene & Terry, thank you both for allowing Sue Gallo Designs to play such an important role in your wedding day. It truly was a pleasure working along with you both. I am happy that you were able to have the Sue Gallo wedding of your dreams!!!

A special thanks to Andrea from Splash Photography for forwarding along the beautiful images of their day. You can see more of Darlene & Terry’s wedding here.
