flower budget 101

flower budget 101

Budget, Money…the essential thing we all need to talk about when planning a wedding. If you have never planned a wedding before, you maybe surprised on how expensive it can be. The gown, the venue, the food, the photographer, flowers, entertainment, travel, the minister, the favours, it all adds up! And it’s best to begin with a plan. Know who’s going to pay for what and how much of the budget they are going to contribute will help make the planning process easier and just a little less stressful.

When it comes to flowers, with so many options, it can be hard to know where to start. However, the possibilities are endless for any type of flower budget. With a realistic approach to your flower budget, we can assist you in selecting pieces that will bring your vision to fruition beautifully.

Normally we suggest that our clients spend 10% to 15% of their overall budget on their flowers and decor. It is important to us that we have an idea on what your flower budget is, so that we can guide you in the right direction and help you plan a fabulous atmosphere. Wedding flowers and floral services are expensive, so its important to be honest about your budget. It’s hard for us to help you find the perfect pieces when you don’t share your cost expectations with us. Be flexible too. You may have champagne tastes but with some flexibility on flower varieties and design styles, openness to repurposing, we can create a plan for you that is a little easier on the pocket book.

It takes time to create an atmosphere that perfectly suits the look and feel you wish to achieve for your wedding day. Planning your flowers and decor is a process that we work closely with you in the months leading up to your wedding. We will chat with you about your personal style, loves, likes, vision and get to know you so that we can create a wedding that is as individual as you are. But before we sit down to chat, you should begin to create a list of what pieces are important to you, and what  you will actually need on your wedding day to help you achieve the look and feel that you are dreaming of.

Here is a list of the essentials and a rough estimate on what you can expect to pay for them.

An average Sue Gallo Designs designed wedding usually requires a floral investment of between $3000 to $6000.00.

You also will have to take into consideration additional delivery, installation, dismantle and pick up fees that may apply to your order. Those fees which range from $225 to $500 will depend upon delivery locations, time constraints, installation requirements such as number of people required to install your event, as well as relocation services from the ceremony to reception site and then tear down at the end of the evening.

From the time you meet with us to begin planning your fabulous wedding, to the time it takes to us to arrange for your flowers, and ensure that we have the best of the crop when selecting your flowers from our growers and wholesalers to the creation and installation of the lovely pieces you have selected, it takes time and a lot of hands on work to create the beautiful event you have envisioned.

So be sure to do your home work prior to meeting us, and most of all be open minded and honest with what’s important and how much you have to spend. That way  we can help you plan a most perfect, most beautiful and a most unforgettable wedding.

We look forward to hearing from you. Until then, as always, happy planning.
