A whole lot of gorgeousness today as we share a beautiful Flower Crown Sunset Maternity feature from 100 Layer Cakelet. Our dear and beautiful friend Danielle of Shaw Events asked us to create floral crowns for her and the sweet Miss E. for a maternity shoot to document her even more beautiful & growing family. I knew they had wanted to capture the warm beautiful glow of a late summer sunset, so I had to capture those same splendid tones in the crowns. With luscious phalenopsis orchids, romantic ranunculus and beautiful multi petaled garden roses, textured amaranths in fantastic shades of peaches, corals, marsala with accents of silvery green eucalyptus … the crowns couldn’t have been any more perfect! We love the soft way in which uber talented photographer Sarah Martin documented this beautiful Momma and the loves of her life.
Thank you to 100 Layer Cakelet for sharing this beautiful maternity shoot.

Happy Wednesday! We’ve been anxiously waiting to share our inspiration creative shoot that we were so honoured to be apart of earlier this summer. Our photographer Ally Kristensen, was completely inspired by the victorian western era and wanted to bring to life a vision of traveling brides on route to meet their new grooms in the west. Sounds kinda crazy I know, but we all fell in love with this twist on victorian steam punk/victorian western and had so much fun bringing Ally’s vision to life. Its romantic, organic and full of wonderful details.
Our beautiful florals in shades of purples, lavenders and caramel yellows were a perfect contrast to the lush forest setting. Hydrangea, garden roses, lisianthus, peony, trailing vines and ferns added a slight elegance to this western traveling wedding caravan. Along with their gorgeous pieces of vintage furniture & unique vintage props, Warehouse 84 acreage property on the outskirts of Ancaster provided the perfect surroundings. Artwork for the stationary was hand created by Alicia’s Infinity. Gorgeous gowns were supplied by Best For Bride Hamilton. To complete our traveling ladies wardrobe, was the simply perfect custom hand made jewellery by Alicia’s Infinity. Hair & make up by the always lovely Aleeza Jawed. Confections by Maria of Sweet Avenue Cakery and of course the beautiful photography is by the uber talented Ally Kristensen.
Thank you to The Lovely Knot for featuring our beautiful labour of love.
We hope that you love it just as much as we do. Read More
Budget, Money…the essential thing we all need to talk about when planning a wedding. If you have never planned a wedding before, you maybe surprised on how expensive it can be. The gown, the venue, the food, the photographer, flowers, entertainment, travel, the minister, the favours, it all adds up! And it’s best to begin with a plan. Know who’s going to pay for what and how much of the budget they are going to contribute will help make the planning process easier and just a little less stressful.
When it comes to flowers, with so many options, it can be hard to know where to start. However, the possibilities are endless for any type of flower budget. With a realistic approach to your flower budget, we can assist you in selecting pieces that will bring your vision to fruition beautifully.
Normally we suggest that our clients spend 10% to 15% of their overall budget on their flowers and decor. It is important to us that we have an idea on what your flower budget is, so that we can guide you in the right direction and help you plan a fabulous atmosphere. Wedding flowers and floral services are expensive, so its important to be honest about your budget. It’s hard for us to help you find the perfect pieces when you don’t share your cost expectations with us. Be flexible too. You may have champagne tastes but with some flexibility on flower varieties and design styles, openness to repurposing, we can create a plan for you that is a little easier on the pocket book.
