What it feels like to have a Sue Gallo Designs Elora mIll wedding brought to life.

When we started planning Janis and Nicholas’ wedding at Elora Mill, Janis knew she wanted it to be beautiful and unforgettable. She had ideas, inspiration and a feeling she wanted to create, but didn’t necessarily know how all of those pieces were going to come together.

That was where Sue Gallo Designs came in.

Working with a fresh floral and event design firm like Sue Gallo Designs, is like having someone who can see the finished wedding long before our couples do. And who understands all the nuances of how to bring it to life.

Janis, along with her planner Sophie of SK Planning & Design Events shared their vision, and inspiration that they loved. They explain how Janis and Nicholas wanted the day to feel, and I instantly understood how to translate that into something that actually worked within Elora Mill, within their wedding and within the overall design.

And that is where our 20 plus years of experience really showed and how Janis knew we were the event design firm for her wedding day.

There Were So Many Things our clients Never Have to Think About

As a bride, you’re already making what feels like a thousand decisions. The last things our couples want is to become an expert in flowers, installation timelines, room proportions or figuring out how everything was going to move from one part of the wedding to another. I think about all of that for you so you don’t have too!

What we bring to the table is an understanding of Elora Mill, the scale of the rooms and how the spaces would photograph. I know where the flowers would have the most impact and where we could pull things back. I carefully and thoughtfully curate how the tablescape, candles and floral details would work together rather than treating everything as separate pieces.

I make decisions behind the scenes that our couples probably never even think or know about. And honestly, that was exactly why our couples like Janis and Nicholas hired us and why planners trust us.

We know When to Add, and When We Didn’t Need To

One of the things I appreciated most when couples like Janis and Nicholas trust me, is that it never really feels like I am was simply adding more flowers or more décor.

There was intention behind everything. If something would make a difference, I always explained why. If there was a better way to use something we already had, I suggested it. And if something wasn’t necessary, well of course I am comfortable saying that too.

This process gives our couples confidence in my process, because together we simply know the decisions aren’t always simply about adding more.

They were about making their wedding feel right.

Seeing their Tablescape Made Everything Feel Real

One of my favourite parts of the process is sharing how beautifully the tablescapes come together before the wedding. Suddenly, all of those individual decisions we had been making made sense. The flowers. The linen. The candles. The day of paper elements, like menus and table numbers. The tabletop details.

Janis and Nicholas could finally see how everything was going to work together, and it made them even more excited for the wedding.

We took all of those separate ideas and turned them into one cohesive design that felt like them..

And Then they Walked Into the Room

There is something very different about seeing inspiration photos and then walking into your own wedding and realizing, this is ours.

Everything feels finished.

Nothing feels like it had simply been placed there because weddings are supposed to have it.

The flowers belonged in the room. The table details felt beautifully layered. Every element worked with the next, and the entire space felt exactly the way they had hoped it would. Except they didn’t have to figure out how to make any of it happen. My team and I had already done that for Janis and Nicholas.

That’s What Experience Looked Like to Janis and Nicholas

Before their wedding, they probably would have thought that hiring someone with more than 20 years of experience meant she was going to be really good at flowers.

After working with Sue Gallo Designs, they realized it means so much more than that.

It means having someone who sees things you don’t see yet.

Someone who understands the venue, anticipates the challenges, knows what will photograph beautifully and understands how everything needs to come together behind the scenes.

It means having someone who can listen to your ideas and then confidently guide you when something needs to be adjusted.

And perhaps most importantly, it means being able to trust that someone else is thinking about all of those details so you don’t have to.

For Janis and Nicholas and their planner Sophie, that was one of the greatest luxuries of working with Sue Gallo Designs for their summer wedding at Elora Mill.

They got to enjoy seeing everything come together without having to manage how it got there. And when they finally walked into the room on their wedding day, all they had to do was take it in.

“Thank you so much for everything you have done for us to make our wedding dreams come true! The florals turned out better than I could’ve ever dreamed. You are incredible at what you do and we are so grateful. We have absolutely loved working with you and will be obsessing over the florals for years to come!” Janis & Nicholas
